As part of ESEU266's ongoing residency at O(L)D in 2024, the studio participated in Jeon-Si, an exhibition exploring the rituals of making, sharing, and gathering through handcrafted tools and objects associated with preparing and eating Korean pancakes (jeon).
In response, ESEU266 developed a series of modular aprons that explored the relationship between utility, garment, and ritual. Rooted in the studio's ongoing investigation of form, adaptability, and everyday wear, each piece transforms between apron and garment, allowing multiple ways of wearing and encouraging a more personal relationship with clothing. Rather than separating workwear from dress, the garments evolve through use, responding to the movements and rituals of everyday life.
The project reflects ESEU266's belief that clothing carries memory through use and that acts of making, whether preparing a meal or constructing a garment, are expressions of care. Image-making became an extension of this process, observing how garments move, adapt, and exist on different bodies, allowing the work itself to lead the narrative.
Presented alongside works by Kenny Yong-Soo Son, Hyun-Seok Sim, Rowan McLachlan, and Saan Davidson, Jeon-Si continues ESEU266's exploration of clothing as a living practice, one that values transformation, craftsmanship, and the quiet moments of connection that bring people together.
The collection is dedicated to those who cook, gather, nurture, and share, recognising these everyday rituals as acts of generosity that strengthen community.
